Discharge Papers for

Britton H. Yarber

Many thanks to Don Yarber Morganfild who submitted this information. Don is the gr-grandson of Britton Yarber. In his note, Don says: "I wish I could send some facts along with it [the certificate]. I also am a fiction writer and would like to embellish a little, saying that he received the Red Badge of Couage or some such thing. Unfortunately, I don't know a lot about him. What I do know is this. He was at the battle of Fort Donnelson, Tn. He was the son of John and Mary Yarbrough. He was born in Tennessee. He was married to Amanda Parrott. They had one son, William Burrill Yarber. William Yarber was my grandfather. I have not been able to find a death certificate for him. I have not been able to find his grave. But in 1870 a Britton H. Yarbrough is on the census records in Navarro County, Texas. A mystery? Yes. I think I could write a very compelling mystery. Fiction of course, but who knows?"
