HEZEKIAH KIBBY OBITUARY
CLARK COUNTY DEMOCRAT

Hezekiah Kibby was born in Darwin Township, Clark County, Illinois, July 2, 1841. He was married to Amanda Finkbiner June 14, 1866, who preceded him in death April 5, 1913. This union was blessed with one son, William and two daughters, Mrs. Alice Kuhn and Mrs. Anna White, the latter having died some four years ago.

He was again married December3, 1916, to Mrs. Mary Sheretz who survives.

When his country needed his service most he enlisted the 12th day of April, 1862 and served in Company H, 10th Illinois Infantry until the end of the war being mustered out April 11, 1865, as a Comrade of the W.B. Archer Post, No. 119, Grand Army of the Republic.

He leaves to mourn his departure a wife, two children, 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and a host of friends. Rev. Fellers of Evangelistic Church assisted by Rev. Pellum of the United Brethren Church conducted the funeral services, which were held at Zion Church. His body was laid to rest in the cemetery near by.
