And now is is my great honor to present to you the Muster Roll for the 3 year enlistment of Captain Benjamin F. Campbell , Co. B, of the 36th Illinois Volunteer Infantry, United States Army, Colonel Silas Miller, from the 31st day of December 1863, when last mustered, to the 31st day of August, 1864.
Most of the men enrolled in different location, though a vast majority enrolled at Aurora, Illinois, under either Captain Campbell or Colonel Brackett. They were officially mustered into service September 25th, 1863, by Colonel Brackett.
While the regiment was stationed at Rough & Ready, Louisianna, this assesment of command was made:
