If you are interested in information on the Lapham family, contact Randy. ![]() Major Lapham was born in Decatur, Ill., December 18, 1832, and died in California in the summer of 1887. He was educated at McKendree College, after which he studied medicine and practiced his profession at Taylorville, Ill., until he entered the service. He served as captain of Company A until after the battle of Chickamauga, when he was promoted to be major. After the war he studied theology and became a member of the Illinois conference, in which he did faithful service until 1884, when failing health compelled his retirement. |
