Father: James HENDERSON Children: Nettie, Alice, Rose, Harry, Howard and Bertha Uriah H. Henderson migrated with his parents and siblings to Stephenson Co Illinois where he was a farmer. On Sept 14th 1861, he and his two brothers, William and Francis, enlisted in Company B, 46th Illinois Volunteers. They fought at Ft Donnelson, Shiloh, Corinth, Davis Bridge, Vicksburg, Jackson, and the siege at Mobile. They were discharged with the rest of the regiment on January 20, 1866. By this time Uriah had been promoted to the rank of Sergeant. After the war, the brothers returned home to Stephenson Co, Illinois. In 1867, the family moved to Boone County, Iowa where they resumed farming. Father James Henderson died there on March 27th, 1869. In 1873, Uriah moved to Aurora, Nebraska where he homesteaded 180 acres. There he married Eliza Jane Thomas and they had six children, Nettie, Alice, Rose, Harry, Howard and Bertha. Uriah died on May 8, 1927 in Aurora, Nebraska.
