Robert Burns Donohoo (listed as Robert Donahue/Donahew on rosters) was born 14 Feb 1839 in Tennessee and died Aug 1917 in Wyoming. He was married on 8 Dec 1884 in Arizona to Ella Rebecca Workman.

He served in the 11th Illinois Infantry, Company C. He suffered a wound to his foot at a battle in Vicksburg and complained of "sore eyes" the remainder of his life.

A Tennessee native and only son, Robert was taught by his father that slavery was wrong and to fight against it if the country should ever come to war. William Robert Donohoo died in 1852, but would have been proud of his only son who traveled to Missouri and voluntarily enlisted to fight for the Union.
