Adjutant General's Report
 
 History of this Regiment  is not  found in the Report of the Adjutant General of Illinois.

Other sources tell us that this unit, in November of 1863 the 29th U.S. Colored Infantry began enrolling men at at Quincy, Illinois and reached its required numbers on April 24, 1864. This unit was mustered out of service on November 6, 1865 at Brownsville, Texas.
